Volunteering opportunities
Sutton Community Transport has a small group of volunteers who help our members
get about. Without this service many of our members would not be able to visit
garden centres, places of interest or go to the coast.
We have the following opportunities for volunteers.
You can volunteer to help local people in a number of ways:
-
Drive a minibus. We provide full training and you only need a D1 licence
to drive a minibus as a volunteer.
-
Drive one of our accessible cars. You only need a car driving licence to do this.
Our volunteers quickly make friends with their passengers.
Some drivers only drive for the groups they want to while others will take
on any trips.
-
Help us with enquiries by groups and individual members about their
transport needs. We are shortly starting a travel club which will help
people get about. The roles range from answering telephone enquiries,
planning routes for people to get about through to travel buddying
(going out to travel with the client) and full travel training.
-
Help us develop our services by visiting groups and individuals to
understand their transport needs.
